Convenor

The organizer for table tennis is FERC. If you have any queries for the convenor please go to the Contact us page.

Rules

The table tennis competition will adopt the Laws of Table Tennis as defined by the International table Tennis Federation as far as practicable. All players must familiarize themselves with these regulations. The following summary does not override the regulations:

Teams are required to report to the starting bench at least 15 minutes before the scheduled round to register the actual players of the matches, failing which the umpire may declare a walk-over. The team that is on time may waive its rights to a walk-over however. If a team does not report by the scheduled time, the umpire will declare a mandatory walk-over.

One minute of warming-up serves may be taken before the first game of a match.

Players are not restricted to any age limitations.

Different players may play in different rounds for a team. But the same players shall play in all games in each match.

The umpire will keep score by annoucing scores verbally.

The Convenor's decision in arbitrating any dispute will be final and non-negotiable.

Equipment provided are: table-tennis table, net and balls. Players are to bring their own bats and wear their church colors.

Format

Each church may participate as follows:

A round-robin play will be implemented. Every church will play against every other church at least once for each team event.

Each match will be decided by the best of three games. The third game will not be played if one side wins the first two games.

The total number of games won by each church will be used to determine the winning positions.

If any two or more churches in top three positions tie in the score, a count back based on the most recent to the earliest matches played will be used to break the tie. If that fails to break the tie, the Convenor will decide on selecting the winning positions.
