Board Games

There are four types of board games open to everyone: Pilgrim's Progress, Monopoly Deal, Sudoku and International Chess.

Pilgrim's Progress

This is a board game, and a minimum of two and maximum of five can play per game.

The player who reaches the Celestial city first is the winner.

Registration is open to the first 20 players who sign up. Please go to the bottom of the page to register.

Pilgrim's Progress is played in the morning only.

Monopoly Deal

Monopoly Deal is played in the afternoon only.

Monopoly Deal will be played according to the rules defined here.

Each game will be played with a minimum of two and a maximum of five participants.

Lots will be drawn to divide all submitted names to different games.

The competition will be by elimination. The winner of each game will advance to the next round to play with the winner of another game.

Sudoku Challenge

Sudoku will be played according the the rules of the game as defined here. Only pen/pencil and eraser can be used. No other aids, computerized or otherwise, may be used.

Any number of players may take part.

Every player will be given an identical Sudoku puzzle in each round.

A total of three rounds will be played, with increasing difficulty, and only the best players from each round will progress to the next.

In each round, the best players are determined in the following order:

Round 1 Moderate. All who register before the deadline will get to play in Round 1. Round 1 has a time limit of 45 minutes or as specified by the starter before the game starts.

Round 2 Difficult. The best eight players from Round 1 will play in round 2. Round 2 has a time limit of 75 minutes or as specified by the starter before the game starts.

Round 3 Fiendish. The best four players from Round 2 will play in round 3. Round 3 has a time limit of 75 minutes or as specified by the starter before the game starts.

Please take note of the start time of each round from the fixtures page. Latecomers will not be given extra time.

International Chess

The International Chess will be played according to the FIDEs Laws of Chess as far as practicable.

Each game will gve given a time limit of twenty (20) minutes and each player given ten (10) minutes each.

The outcome of a game is decided as follows:

Participants of all ages will play together, but in the preliminaries we will try to let players play against another of similar age.

The competition format will be elimination. The winner of each game will advance into the next round and play against the winner of a another game.

Please submit your intention to participate using the form below before Friday July 29, 2011. Please help to disseminate information on the board games to your fellow brothers and sisters who might not have Internet access.
